Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 27, 2026

Pictango ("the App") is operated by corita ("we", "us", or "our"), an independent business based in Japan. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

All users. Learning progress and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account system and do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, payment card details, or email addresses within the App.

Pseudonymous usage analytics. By default, the App sends event-level usage data (such as which screens are opened, card responses, and whether a learning session was completed) to our analytics provider, PostHog, to help us improve the App. These events use a randomly generated app identifier and do not include names, email addresses, or advertising identifiers. The identifier is stored for the app installation so that events across visits can be analyzed together. Events include completed purchases and restores and premium subscription status. Purchase events include the product, price, and currency. You can stop usage analytics sent by the App at any time in Settings → Privacy → Send usage data.

Approximate location. PostHog derives approximate geographic information, such as country, region, and city, from the IP address used for a request and stores it with usage events for analytics. The App does not obtain precise GPS location.

Website analytics and advertising measurement. Our marketing landing page uses PostHog and the Meta Pixel to measure page views and taps on the App Store button. The Meta Pixel uses cookies and similar technologies, including web beacons. Meta may use the resulting browser or device information and its own identifiers for advertising measurement, ad delivery and personalization, and audience creation under its terms. Website measurement is separate from App learning data. See Meta's Privacy Policy and Meta Business Tools Terms.

ChatGPT advertising measurement. Our English marketing landing page at pictango.corita.app also uses the OpenAI Pixel to measure taps on the App Store button. The Pixel uses browser measurement signals and first-party cookies, including an OpenAI ad click reference when available, to attribute website actions to ChatGPT ads. We do not pass names, email addresses, or in-App learning activity in this event. This measures a website button tap, not an app installation or purchase. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

Premium subscribers. When you start a premium subscription, the following is processed:

RevenueCat also sends subscription events, such as purchases, renewals, and cancellations, to PostHog using an anonymous subscriber identifier. The App's usage-data setting controls analytics sent by the App; purchase management and subscription events sent by RevenueCat are separate processes and are not stopped by that setting.

Payments are handled by Apple.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Learning progress and settings are stored locally on your device using the operating system's local storage. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your iOS device may include this data in its backup; that backup is managed by Apple, not by us.

Subscription information is retained by RevenueCat and Apple for the duration of your subscription and as required by applicable law.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently received such information, please contact us so we can address it.

8. International Transfers

Our subscription provider RevenueCat and our analytics provider PostHog are based in the United States. By using the App, you understand that subscription identifiers and pseudonymous usage analytics, including approximate location, may be processed in the United States.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, when changes are material, notify users through the App or via email when reasonably possible.
